Yoto launches Toy Story 5 audio card with Disney and Pixar

Yoto has launched a Toy Story 5 audio card produced by Disney and Pixar, turning the film into an approximately one-hour audio adventure for children aged three to eight. The product is available through Yoto UK for £9.99.

The card follows Jessie, Woody and other Toy Story characters as Bonnie becomes increasingly absorbed by a smart tablet named Lilypad. It divides the retelling into 10 short chapters and includes single-voice narration, original music and sound effects.

Yoto expands its Toy Story library

Yoto content director Jess Tarrant said Toy Story was one of the company’s seven franchise titles in its library. The card is compatible with all Yoto players, including Yoto Player 4th Gen and Yoto Mini 4th Gen, and with the free Yoto App.

The launch adds a new format for the Disney and Pixar film: rather than presenting the movie directly, it retells the story through audio, following Jessie as Bonnie’s favorite toy and bringing in Woody when Bonnie’s interest in screens creates a challenge. Buzz Lightyear action figures also undertake a separate mission to reach Star Command.

Audio format targets family listening

Tarrant said the product was designed around parents’ interest in encouraging children to slow down, listen and use their imaginations. Jessie’s effort to draw Bonnie away from a screen provides the story’s central conflict between modern technology and old-fashioned imagination.

Yoto said the card runs for approximately one hour. It is sold through Yoto UK, while the cited player prices are £119.99 for Yoto Player 4th Gen and £89.99 for Yoto Mini 4th Gen.
