A Sweep Across Seven Categories
Bad Bunny's Apple Music Super Bowl LX Halftime Show won all seven categories in which it was nominated at Emmy Awards Night 1, the ceremony formerly known as the Creative Arts Emmys, held on Saturday. The Puerto Rican singer earned his first Emmy Award, and the performance became the most awarded Super Bowl halftime show in Emmy history.
Outstanding Variety Special and Historic Firsts
The show won Outstanding Variety Special (Live), becoming only the second Super Bowl halftime show to claim the top program prize, following the 2022 show featuring Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Mary J. Blige, Eminem, Kendrick Lamar, and 50 Cent. It was also the first Spanish-language program to win the category. Additional wins included directing, music direction, choreography, sound mixing, lighting design, technical direction, and camerawork.
Themes and Creative Vision
The seven Emmy wins recognized the creative and technical execution of the 13-minute performance, which featured Puerto Rican imagery, Latin music, and guest appearances by artists including Lady Gaga and Ricky Martin. Bad Bunny addressed the audience during the performance with the message: "The only thing more powerful than hate is love." The Emmy haul adds another major awards distinction to a year that included his album Debí Tirar Más Fotos becoming the first Spanish-language album to win the Grammy for Album of the Year.
Sabrina Carpenter's First Primetime Emmy
On the same night, Sabrina Carpenter won her first Primetime Emmy as an executive producer and performer of The Muppet Show on Disney+, which took the award for Outstanding Variety Special (Pre-Recorded). The special, commemorating the 50th anniversary of the 1976–81 series, also won for writing, production design, and picture editing for a variety program. The win marked the second time Carpenter has prevailed over Taylor Swift for an EGOT-level award, following her 2025 Grammy win for Best Pop Vocal Album with Short n' Sweet.
