A record-extending run at No. 1

Ella Langley's "Choosin' Texas" notched a 17th week at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, moving it solely into fourth place for the longest-leading No. 1 in the chart's history. The single first reached the top in February 2026 and now sits behind only Mariah Carey's "All I Want for Christmas Is You" (22 weeks), Shaboozey's "A Bar Song (Tipsy)" (19 weeks) and Lil Nas X's "Old Town Road" (19 weeks). The track, released on SAWGOD/Columbia Records with Triple Tigers handling country radio promotion, tallied 24.9 million official streams (down 2% week-over-week), 54.5 million radio airplay audience impressions (up 4%, helped by a top-10 debut on Pop Airplay) and 9,000 in sales (up 9%) in the United States during the July 31–Aug. 6 tracking week.
Streaming, radio and sales chart movement
"Choosin' Texas" rose one spot to lead Streaming Songs for a 17th week, held at No. 6 on Radio Songs after peaking at No. 4, and climbed two places to return to No. 1 on Digital Song Sales for a 14th week. The song also topped the multimetric Hot Country Songs chart for a 35th week, breaking a tie with Sam Hunt's "Body Like a Back Road" and leaving it behind only Bebe Rexha and Florida Georgia Line's "Meant To Be" (50 weeks) and Shaboozey's "A Bar Song (Tipsy)" (45 weeks). It additionally led the Songs of the Summer chart for a 10th week.
Two charts, different songs, one artist
Langley became the third artist, and the first woman, to top the Hot 100 and Country Airplay simultaneously with different songs. While "Choosin' Texas" led the all-genre ranking, her collaboration with Morgan Wallen, "I Can't Love You Anymore," debuted at No. 1 on Country Airplay. Morgan Wallen is the only other artist to have previously accomplished the feat, doing so twice.
Grande's double top-five entry
Ariana Grande placed two songs inside the Hot 100's top five from her album "petal," which launched as her seventh No. 1 on the Billboard 200. "Hate That I Made You Love Me" rebounded 8–2 after leading in its debut week in May, and the title track "petal" debuted at No. 4.
Chart methodology and timing
The Hot 100 blends all-genre U.S. streaming, radio airplay and sales data, with sales excluding direct-to-consumer digital transactions; Luminate authenticates submissions before final rankings are published. Charts dated Aug. 15, 2026 were scheduled to update on Billboard.com on Aug. 11, 2026.
