Ella Langley's "Choosin' Texas" has extended its all-time Billboard Hot 100 record, spending a 24th total week at No. 1 on the chart dated October 3, 2026, according to Luminate-tracked data reported by Billboard. The country crossover has now led the Hot 100 outright, a week after first surpassing Mariah Carey's "All I Want for Christmas Is You," which had accumulated 22 weeks at the summit across multiple chart years from 2019 through 2026. The latest week is also the song's 14th consecutive frame at No. 1, a run that began after it recaptured the top in early July.
How the week was measured
During the September 18-24 tracking period, "Choosin' Texas" generated 22.3 million official U.S. streams, up 2% from the prior week, while reaching 57.9 million radio airplay audience impressions and selling 9,000 copies, with weekly sales rising 55%. The track simultaneously adds a 24th week at No. 1 on Billboard's Streaming Songs chart and ranks No. 3 on Radio Songs.
A second Billboard benchmark on Digital Song Sales
"Choosin' Texas" also set a new mark on Billboard's Digital Song Sales chart, logging a 19th week at No. 1 and moving past BTS' "Dynamite" and "Butter," which each led for 18 weeks. The milestone reinforces the song's cross-format durability, complementing its Hot 100 and Streaming Songs runs.
The company it now leads
With 24 total weeks, "Choosin' Texas" has extended its lead over the other long-running No. 1s in Hot 100 history. Shaboozey's "A Bar Song (Tipsy)" and Lil Nas X's "Old Town Road," featuring Billy Ray Cyrus, each hold 19 weeks, while Whitney Houston's "I Will Always Love You" and "One Sweet Day" by Mariah Carey and Boyz II Men are tied with 16 weeks apiece. On Billboard's Hot Country Songs tally, "Choosin' Texas" has held No. 1 for 40 weeks, and Langley's album "Dandelion" has retaken No. 1 on the Billboard 200 for a third week.
The song behind the record
Released in October 2025 through SAWGOD/Columbia Records, "Choosin' Texas" was written by Langley with Miranda Lambert, Luke Dick and Joybeth Taylor, and appears on her second studio album, "Dandelion." The track first reached No. 1 on the Hot 100 in February 2026 and has since been reasserted at the summit through sustained streaming, sales and radio airplay.
A follow-up signal on Langley's chart year
With 24 total weeks at No. 1 logged entirely within the 2026 chart year, Langley's run will next be measured against the Hot 100 dated October 10, 2026, the chart that will determine whether "Choosin' Texas" extends its all-time mark to a 25th week.
