Rodrigo returns to the top of the Billboard 200

Olivia Rodrigo’s You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love returned to No. 1 on the Billboard 200 after the release of her “Expectations” remix with Chappell Roan, giving the album a third total week atop the chart. The remix was released on October 15, 2026, and also came with a music video.

The album displaced Taylor Swift’s The Life of a Showgirl and recorded 75,000 equivalent album units in the United States during the latest chart period, up 15% from the preceding week. Of those units, 63,000 were streaming-equivalent album units, representing a 19% increase. The remaining songs on the album generated 67.14 million official on-demand streams.

The remix preceded the album’s return

The album had spent 19 weeks on the chart without leaving the top five before returning to the top position. Rodrigo first reached No. 1 when the album debuted in June and remained there for a second week. Its latest return followed the October 15 release of the “Expectations” remix featuring Roan; the lead report attributed the return largely to the remix.

The music video for the remix had accumulated more than 21 million YouTube views by the time of the lead report. Rodrigo and Roan have been friends since 2018, and Roan has supported her on the Sour Tour in 2023 and the Guts World Tour in 2024.
