Nathan Fielder’s nearly three-hour documentary about Elizabeth Holmes, *You Can See Everything*, opened to approximately $15.6 million in the United States, making it one of the year’s biggest domestic box-office surprises. The film, co-directed by Fielder and Lance Oppenheim, was made over three years and concerns the disgraced Theranos founder. Culture.org reported an opening of about $15 million from 855 screens, making the documentary the biggest North American documentary debut since *Fahrenheit 9/11* in 2004; Variety separately reported the $15.6 million U.S. opening. The reported budget was roughly $7 million, and A24 counted more than 2,000 sold-out screenings.
The international rollout is moving more slowly
A24 releases its own films outside North America in only a few regions, notably the United Kingdom and Ireland and Australia and New Zealand, while rights elsewhere are generally sold film by film. The UK release of *You Can See Everything* is scheduled for Nov. 20, more than a month after the North American opening. Sony Pictures has acquired the documentary for Germany, Latin America, South Korea, India, South Africa, Southeast Asia and the Middle East, but had not announced release plans for those territories. In the Gulf, Sony’s longtime theatrical distributor is Empire International, and no Middle East release date had been confirmed.
A staggered strategy shapes A24’s releases abroad
The timing is part of a broader pattern affecting other A24 titles. *Primetime*, starring Robert Pattinson, opened in the United States on Sept. 25 with $19.2 million, the company’s third-biggest debut behind *Backrooms* and *Civil War*; its UK previews were scheduled to begin Oct. 28. Jordan Firstman’s *Club Kid* was scheduled for U.S. cinemas on Nov. 6 and UK cinemas on Jan. 8, 2027. *Everything Everywhere All at Once* reached the UK two months after its 2022 U.S. release.
A24 declined to comment on its release strategy. In Japan, Happinet Phantom Studios handles the company’s slate under an exclusive agreement, while Sony’s rights for *You Can See Everything* and *Primetime* also cover additional markets. The overseas release schedule for *You Can See Everything* therefore remained partly unresolved after its strong North American debut.
