Seven-day pace to half a billion
Sony/Marvel Studios' "Spider-Man: Brand New Day" reached $500M at the domestic box office in roughly a week of release, the fastest such crossover on record. The previous benchmark was held by Disney/Marvel's "Avengers: Endgame," which needed eight days to clear the same threshold in 2019. After its eighth day, the film's running domestic total stood at an estimated $508.8M, according to reporting published on August 6, 2026.
Place in the all-time domestic list
"Brand New Day" is the 23rd film to gross more than $500M at the North American box office, a ranking led by 2015's "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" at $936.6M. "The Force Awakens" had previously held the speed record, taking ten days to reach $500M domestically, while the prior "Spider-Man: No Way Home" took twelve days to the same mark in 2021.
Midweek and premium-format hold
On its seventh day, the film grossed $32.7M, the second-best Wednesday ever for a non-opening title, behind only "The Force Awakens'" $38M Wednesday on December 23, 2015. The film was projected to add around $27M or more on day eight. IMAX auditoriums, which were not part of the opening suite, began projecting the film in a co-share arrangement with Universal's "The Odyssey," with the sequel set to hold premium large-format screens for the weekend.
2026 worldwide standings
"Brand New Day" overtook "Toy Story 5" in worldwide grosses within a week of release to become the highest-grossing title of 2026 so far, and was nearing Rs 400 crore in India, per coverage from August 6, 2026. The film's surge also drew public congratulations from the Russo Brothers as it added fresh box-office records.
What's next
The film enters its second weekend facing limited new counterprogramming, with previews for Universal's "One Night Only," Horror Section's "Ice Cream Man," and Searchlight's "Supertroopers 3." Its sophomore frame will be measured against "The Force Awakens'" second-weekend record of $149.2M.
